Tania Hershmann’s Short Review is up and running again. The site is a store of reviews and news about short stories. It is – to my meagre knowledge at any rate – the only such website on the planet. Tania and her team keep tabs on what’s happening in the short story world.
I’ve been a big fan of Stanislaw Lem since before I knew where Poland was on the map. For those who have never heard of him, Lem was a science fiction writer with strong speculative/philosophical leanings, who tried to understand both future trends and our changing view of what is means to be human.
Lem, Philip K. Dick and J.G. Ballard would be my three favourite classic sci-fi writers.
Anyway, the cutting-edge people at Comma Press brought out an anthology in celebration of Lem’s work. For the first time in double-digit years I began to read Lem again.
I wrote this review of Lemistry.
